Helium Flash Pin
1.25" (3 cm) antiqued silver metal pin with rubber clutch.
A Phoenix reborn in space!
A helium flash occurs in small stars when all of the easy-burning hydrogen converts to helium. Without hydrogen available, these smaller stars slowly fizzle out.
However, there are a few lucky stars that seem to spontaneously spring back to life.
Compared to hydrogen, helium is heavy. It can become dense enough to reignite the dying star in a powerful nuclear reaction, burning helium as their new fuel.
May these rare stars guide you through difficult times when all seems hopeless. You will burn brightly again, friend.
This design is an interpretation of a star undergoing helium fusion. Layers of explosions radiate from this star. In the center, you'll find a helium atom with its two protons and two neutrons with a pair of electrons orbiting the nucleus.
Special thanks goes to an artichoke for inspiring this pattern.
